Multilingualism and Unique Opportunities
At FBS, middle school students prepare for successful and smooth entry into Italian and international high schools through:
- An Integrated Bilingual Curriculum: Italian curriculum enriched by the Cambridge International Pathway. .
- Multilingual Programme to also learn French or Spanish with native speaking teachers. .
- Following Passion: annual personal project in English on a topic of interest to the student, guided by a tutor .
- Immersion Stay: 1-2 week experience in a college in the UK including lessons, sport, culture and fun. .
- Socio-Emotional Learning (SEL): (programme in English) to accompany each student on a path of personal growth and wellbeing. .
- FBS Club: a unique opportunity to develop skills and make friends for life: Debate Club (Model United Nations), Young Reporters, Art, Fashion, Music and Sport! .

At FBS, we understand the pivotal role that pre-school plays in laying a strong foundation for each child's learning journey.
That's why we offer a one-of-a-kind bilingual learning experience where little learners are immersed in both Italian and English. Your child will have the opportunity to become bilingual, amplifying their cognitive abilities and fostering an open mindset.

FAQs
Florence Bilingual School offers a bilingual Italian-English curriculum from nursery to secondary school. Recognized as a paritaria school by the Ministry of Education and Merit, we combine the Italian curriculum with the prestigious and rigorous Cambridge International Pathway, designed by academic experts to provide students with the most advanced educational opportunities.
The school offers students aged 3-14 a wide range of extra-curricular activities, many of which are conducted in English. From sports to music, from art to drama, from journalism to Debate - Model United Nations, to STEM, our after-school activities are all designed to enrich the school curriculum and offer pupils an additional opportunity to discover and cultivate their interests, passions and talents.
Being immersed in a bilingual environment from an early age is an unparalleled opportunity. Beyond mastering Italian and English, students at Florence Bilingual School develop enhanced cognitive abilities, including improved concentration, multitasking, abstract thinking, creativity, communication skills, empathy, and cultural awareness.
The Florence Bilingual School follows the regional school calendar but opens to pupils from the first working day in September until the last working day in June. Nursery and pre-school pupils can choose to attend the summer centres organised by the school, which are usually held in the first two weeks of July. For the Menarini Baby nursery school the summer centres last the whole month of July.
The tuition fee includes canteen service, extended opening hours from 7:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. with supervision, and the shuttle service between school buildings during school hours. Extra-curricular activities (FBS Clubs), educational visits, school trips, Immersion Stay, and morning school bus service are not included.
The Florence Bilingual School organises summer centres for the first weeks of July for children aged 3-6. For children not enrolled in the school, participation is subject to the availability of places. For further information: eca@florencebilingualschool.it
